It’s a new year and a new decade. This is the time to see how to go beyond rule-bound ways of being. Try life out for yourself. Intuition will show you the way.

True intuition will not ask you to do anything that is out of your value system or beyond your vulnerability. It will simply show you the next step toward manifesting your highest life.

When my son was young we logged many miles hiking Arizona trails. I was often nervous when he strayed too close to the edge of the trail because it was usually a big drop-off down an Arizona canyon. I watched him carefully yet did my best not to stifle his curiosity and enthusiasm; not always easy for a mom.

In some similar way, when you were little, odds are that a caring person – usually a parent – warned you not to not be too bold because “you might get hurt.”

The good news is you survived until adulthood. Now is the time to go beyond that voice. We often stop our own boldness, our own adventurous spirit because we have an old voice in the back of our mind saying, “don’t do that, you might get hurt.”

Your intuition may be trying to move you in a new direction in work or relationships. Now is the time to LISTEN. Maybe you’re feeling the impulse to take a class in dance or painting. Maybe you’re feeling the urge to teach or write. Maybe you always wanted to be in business for yourself, an entrepreneur.

For many of you, following intuition is a new way of life. You may be used to doing what other people tell you to do, or what you think others want you to do. Or, may be you’re good at rebellion.

Follow your intuitive whisper and see what happens. This may be the time that new doors are about to open for you.

Knock on that door. Open it up. Walk right through. Give yourself permission to move ahead. You don’t have to be perfect or great, just do it for exploration, fun, pleasure, joy, adventure and success. Give yourself a chance.

Stay open and see what happens. You may break through the rut you’ve been living.  Many successful people have learned to follow the power of their intuition. That’s how innovation and problem solving happen.
